May I choose to give a F*ck
This time too has passed
Many millennia and again
When the efforts of the whole
Are subverted and ruined
One heaps praise on oneself
And derides others
One kills or coaxes others to kill
One speaks falsely
Or coaxes others to speak falsely
One is uncharitable
Or ridicules the charity of others
One festers with angers
Or foments angers in others
For in these eras of
Truth and Objectivity
Actions need no longer be guided by
Definite purpose or values and only
Limited by the rules of rationality,
Justification and subtle insouciance,
Cleverly calibrated
But to leave this fear,
Self-satisfaction, self-pity,
And competitiveness behind
Is to once again nurture the
Sensitive current of feeling and
Allow it to permeate our being
Transforming it back into that
Indispensable organ of knowledge
