May I choose not to pursue happiness
To seek happiness in pleasure,
Wealth, prizes, and conquests
Is as naive as the child
Who collects shiny trinkets
To wear as a crown
Things influence you far more by
The state of mind they find you in
Than their own intrinsic nature
And so these objects of happiness
When pursued, only transform
And change when you have
Reached them
The more you gain on enjoyment
The further you get from happiness
To be happy is an act of being
An experience lived through
In any given moment
You cannot hold on to it
You have to live it and
Let it go or cause it to
Wither into sorrow
